Trace chemistry samples are prepared using clean techniques (Curran et al., 1998) and analysed based on methods described by Curran and Palmer (2001) using Dionex ICS 3000 ion chromatograph, measuring anions (Cl, NO3 and SO4) and cations (Na, NH4, K, Mg and Ca) to ppb levels.
