Ice and snow pit measurements observed during the SIPEX II voyage of the Aurora Australis, 2012This dataset contains routine measurements of snow and ice thickness, and snow-ice interface temperature, at 1m intervals along standard transects; snow property characterisation in snow pits measured at 0m, 50m and 100m along the transects; and sea ice cores acquired at various locations both along the transects and elsewhere on ice station floes during the 2012 SIPEX 2 marine science voyage. CLPX-Ground: ISA Snow Pit Measurements, Version 2This data set consists of snow pit data from nine study areas, within three larger-scale areas in northern Colorado (Fraser, North Park, and Rabbit Ears Meso-cell Study Areas (MSAs)). The study areas range from low-relief (flat topography) unforested areas with shallow snow covers, to high-relief (complex topography) densely forested areas with deep snow covers.

Meteorological and snow data from Aboa 2010-2011Abstract: The measurements were made in the vicinity of the Finnish Antarctic research station Aboa (73S, 13W). The measurement period was December 2010 - January 2011. The following quantities were measured: Over snow-covered glacier and blue ice: - downwelling longwave radiation - longwave radiation emitted by the surface - downwelling shortwave radiation - reflected shortwave radiation Cloud co

Freshwater fluxes and climate change in the Antarctic Peninsula: a combined observational and modelling approachThe Antarctic Peninsula (AP) is one of the few regions in Antarctica that experiences significant surface melt and runoff. Being a region of fast atmospheric warming (three to four times the global average during the last five decades), the increase in meltwater production has presumably led to the disintegration of numerous ice shelves in the northern AP. As a result, grounded glaciers have accel

Snow pit measurements from FINNARP 2009 snow teamDataset contains data from 15 snow pits along a snow line. The depth of these snow pits was approximately 1.5 meters. Nine 0.5m meters deep snow pits were also measured. The length of snow line was 230 km, following the standard route from Rappen to SWEDARP field station Svea via Aboa/Wasa stations. The snow pit measurements were made along the same snow line as in the earlier FINNARP expeditions.
