Description
This file has been checked ONE TIME ONLY on 12 Jan 2021 Several columns of this file, however, have been checked TWO TIMES and were pasted from other checked files If a UPD female weaned a litter of unknown size because of mixing, I list her BABIES as 1 in this file. Example = C3 in 1998.
For UPD male-29 in 1999, he had ?MCs. For this file I score male-29's MCs as 1. I use the same method for other males like 29 who had ?MCs. ?MCs means that the males gave >=1 MC, but I am not sure how many I used this file to compare for UPDs the PROBABILITY OF AT LEAST ONE MC (UPD number of MCs = 0 or >=1) vs UPD litter size 0 or UPD litter size >=1 Age = number of years since first emergence from natal burrow-entrance Femsurv = 0 = female did NOT survive until next mating season Femsurv = 1 = female DID survive until next mating season These data used for Fig 16.12 in Hoogland 2026.

This file ready for longterm storage on 24 March 2025. I considered data from the same prairie dog in different years to be independent. MC = Mating Call Yearlings = number of weanlings that survived for >=9 months after first emergence Litter size = number of offspring that emerged from natal nursery-burrow = weanlings For UPDs in Fig 16.12, I do not use data from yearlings, body mass, fem surv, date of estrus, or fem's eartags.
Femsurv = 0 = female did NOT survive until next mating season Femsurv = 0 = female DID survive until next mating season For Fig 16.12, I used two classes of UPD number of Mating Calls: 0 and >=1 For Fig 16.12, I used two classes of UPD litter size at first juvenile emergence: 0 (no weaning) and >=1.
