Biodiversity occurrence records published in the scientific publications of Ukrainian natural history museums

The data were mobilised from publications of several Ukrainian museum institutions and scientific series, including Proceedings of the Zoological Museum of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, publications of the Poltava Local History Museum, a series of proceedings devoted to natural history museology and zoological collections, and catalogues of the Zoological Museum of Uzhhorod National University.

The source publications contain information accumulated through zoological and botanical field studies, examination of museum specimens, revision and cataloguing of museum collections, and analysis of historical collection materials. They include both recently collected material and historical specimens and observations dating back to the nineteenth century. During preparation of the dataset, individual records of organisms reported in the source publications were extracted and converted into structured occurrence records.
