CalCOFI October 2022 Vertebrate eDNA

Samples were collected at 16 different stations in the southern CCE across varying depths with three different protocols: the NOAA Rockfish Recruitment and Ecosystem Assessment Survey (RREAS), the Global eDNA Marine Collection and Analysis Program (GEMCAP), and the NOAA-CalCOFI Ocean Genomics Project (NCOG) protocols.

All protocols were used at all stations. The sampling methods targeted similar depths with some variability (e.g. RREAS did not sample below 100m) and filtered different volumes of water. Sample volume ranged from 1 to 6L, with GEMCAP averaging approximately 1L, RREAS approximately 2L and NCOG approximately 4.5L per sample.
