Belgian recreational fisheries monitoring

Data is collected through a programme in which Belgian recreational fishermen voluntary provide catch data on the level of individual fishing trips (www.recreatievezeevisserij.be).

Data includes species names, number of released/retained species, total weight of retained fish/shrimps, length dimensions for Cod and Sea bass, fishing technique, bait characteristics, trip duration and catch location on the level of maritime zones (coast; 0-3 nm; 3-6 nm; 6-12 nm; exclusive economic zone (>12 nm).
