Description
The Labour Party (DP) is a Lithuanian political party active since 2003. This party has been established on October 18, 2003.
On May 14, 2006, the split of the DP occurred, when the Civic Democratic Party was established. On July 9, 2011, the DP merged with the New Union (Social Liberals) (NS(SL)). In May 2006, following the initiation of a pre-trial investigation, and from April 2008 during the judicial examination of the criminal case concerning the non-transparent accounting practices of DP as a legal entity, on April 24, 2013, DP merged with the Labourist Party into a new legal entity – the Labour Party (Labourists), while DP, as a legal entity, ceased its activities.

The Labourist Party had been established on June 15, 2008, on the basis of the youth organization "Darbas", which was closely associated with the Labour Party and whose representatives had been co-opted into various governing bodies of the Labour Party since 26 August 2006. On October 26, 2013, a unification congress of the Labour Party (Labourists) and the Christian Party took place. The old name – Labour Party – was restored to the new party.
