Molecular subtypes of autism spectrum disorder: Convergent genetic pathways and environmental modulation

Listed in NCBI GEO

Gene expression in the cerebral cortex of VPA-exposed (VPA) and unexposed (UE) marmosets at five age points (neonates, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, and adults) was analyzed using microarrays.

Description

VPA marmosets recapitulated the molecular signature of human ASD, with glial gene expression alterations emerging in the neonatal period, preceding neuronal gene expression alterations.
