Social Indicators of Equality for Minorities and Women Files

The agency created and used these data to devise new statistical measures, called "social indicators," to compare the well-being of the minority and female population to that of the majority male population.

Description

This series consists of samples of 56,265 individuals from the Public Use Sample of the 1960 Census of Population and Housing; 153,715 individuals from the State 5% Public Use Sample of the 1970 Census of Population and Housing; 77,702 individuals from the State 15% Public Use Sample of the 1970 Census; and 110,545 individuals from the Public Use Sample of the 1976 Survey of Income and Education.

Data on individuals include all information from the individual public use samples including data about the individual and family, residence and its condition and cost, sources of income and expenses, educational history, occupational history, and geographic mobility.
