The document presents the major findings of the SID workshop on human mobility in Eastern Africa, held in Nairobi, last december 2008.
Description
It gathered experts and policy makers from the region in order to create a multidisciplinary and multi-sector resource group aiming to: Explore the state of art of policy discourse at national and regional level in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the main challenges and opportunities; Explore the chance in the region to generate space for a coherent and continuative policy discourse; Explore the potential drivers, eventual direction and impact on the region of human mobility flows and their implications for policy.
This workshop, aimed to engage regional policy actors in a process of strategic dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of mobility patterns and their likely impact on the future of the region.
