Data set on the accurate continuous observations of atmospheric CO2, CH4 dry mole fractions in the western Taimyr Peninsula (Siberia) for the period 09.2018 - 01.2021

Atmospheric observations of sources and sinks of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) in the pan-Arctic domain are highly sporadic, limiting our understanding of carbon turnover in this climatically sensitive environment and a fate of enormous carbon reservoirs buried in permafrost.
Description
Particular gaps apply to the arctic latitudes of Siberia, covered by the vast tundra ecosystems underlain by permafrost, where only several atmospheric sites are available.
The data set contains the time series of the quality controlled (QC) hourly afternoon (1-4 pm of local time (GMT+7)) averages of atmospheric CO2 and CH4 dry mole fractions measured with a CRDS analyzer Picarro G2301-f at 35 m a.s.l. in the western Taimyr Peninsula (Siberia). Meteorological variables (air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation amount, wind) for the same period of observations permit screening of trace gas data series.

The data set covers the period from September 2018 to January 2021 with a nearly 4-month break (November 13, 2018 - February 22, 2019) due to technical failure when both trace gas and meteorological records are missing.
