This utility model provides a zooplankton collecting device, comprising a stabilizing unit, a trapping unit and a collecting unit.
Description
The stabilizing unit includes a circular steel ring, inside which a mesh cover is arranged. A plurality of floats are disposed on the upper part of the circular steel ring, and the floats are connected to the circular steel ring via water‑layer adjusting ropes with adjustable lengths.
The collecting unit comprises an inverted frustum‑shaped netting and a storage chamber; the upper apex of the netting is connected to the circular steel ring, and the storage chamber is connected to the lower apex of the netting. The trapping unit includes a light source arranged inside the netting. The zooplankton collecting device provided by this utility model collects zooplankton in lakes by utilizing the phototaxis of zooplankton.

At night, the length of the ropes is adjusted according to the sampling water layer, the point light source is turned on, and the device is deployed in the sampling water area. After a period of time, the device is fished out, and the valve of the device is opened to collect live zooplankton specimens.
