Non-traditional essential oil plants at the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden include diverse species cultivated for their aromatic, medicinal, and ornamental value, as well as for essential oil production.
Description
Many of these plants are drought-resistant, highly productive, and suitable for Ukraine’s climatic conditions. They serve as raw materials for the pharmaceutical, perfume, and food industries, while also contributing to biodiversity conservation and sustainable agriculture.
Research focuses on selecting high-yielding cultivars, improving essential oil content and quality, and developing energy-efficient cultivation technologies for both domestic use and export potential.
