Clinical and Dermoscopic Triage of head and neck Macules: The Role of Reflectance Confocal Microscopy in a Prospective Study of 2006 Lesions

The study included 2,006 lesions from 801 patients assessed at three specialised dermatology centres in Northern Italy between November 2017 and February 2020.

The dataset includes demographic and lesion-related variables, anatomical location, clinical-dermoscopic diagnostic category, estimated malignancy risk, RCM diagnosis, agreement or discordance between imaging modalities, management strategy, histopathological diagnosis when available, and follow-up outcomes for lesions managed conservatively. Diagnostic categories include nevi, solar lentigo, seborrheic keratosis, lichen planus-like keratosis, other benign lesions, actinic keratosis, lentigo maligna/lentigo maligna melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.
