Abstract

Staurogyne konchurangensis (Acanthaceae) is described and illustrated from Vietnam (Gia Lai Province, Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve) as a species new to science. It is distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of morphological characters: bracts 5–8 mm long, calyx 10–13 mm long, and white corolla ca. 1.5–2 cm long. In addition, an amended description of S. purpurea is presented based on newly collected specimens and field observations; its key diagnostic features and geographical distribution are clarified.
