This report notes positive developments in Macedonia toward increasing stability, in contrast to continued concerns about ethnic conflict, weapons, crime, and a lack of institutional reform.
Description
It argues that the real progress toward political stability and internal security that has been made has largely been possible because of unprecedented cooperation between NATO, the U.S. and the EU from the early days of the crisis in 2001.
That cooperation remains essential for the transition period that Macedonia has now entered.
