Dataset for: Viral kinetics of 16 PoGV isolates in Phthorimaea operculella

A stock solution of PoGV was prepared for each isolate, with a concentration of 109 granules/ml, from which a dilution was made with the factor 4:1 (3 of distilled water: 1 virus) and proceeded to inoculate discs that contained between 800 to 1000 eggs of P. operculella. These filter paper discs were placed in petri dishes, sealing the plates until the larvae hatched.

Then, 50 larvae were transferred with the help of a brush to 15 plastic containers of ½ of a liter for each isolation, these containers contained approximately 100g of potato variety peruanita, next they were taken to a growth chamber at 24°C. The evaluations were carried out daily from the sixth day until the 21st day. For this, five larvae of potato tubers were recovered, each larva was placed in a 1.5 ml microtube (eppendorf) and weighed immediately, to avoid weight loss.
