The study’s topic is the non-profit housing associations in the housing sector of the Weimar Republic, which developed in the 20ies of the 20th century to the institutional main provider of social welfare state’s sponsorship of the housing sector.
Description
The Housing in the Weimar Republic was a key area of policy under the new developing welfare-state activities. Rent act, public housing management, rent setting and financial housing promotion featured an integral part of the state instruments.
Nature and extent of publicly funded housing construction should not be underestimated for the relative success of the Weimar housing policy.
