The campaigns were also part of the baseline fauna studies that were done in the area as part of the preparation for the design of a Biodiversity Action Plan, a document that Total Austral prepares for all its operational sites, which contains biodiversity conservation actions to be implemented on- site.

The baseline studies were developed in order to have updated information on the biodiversity status of the site before planning suitable conservation actions.
