Replication Data for:Fig 17.7, GPDs, Juvenile body mass vs litter size, 23 June 2026

I considered data from the same prairie dog mother regarding litter size in different years to be independent. Standard errors were usually small, because my sample sizes for each age were large. In some cases of Cumulative body mass for this figure, I have shown SEMs of 40 that extend slightly beyond the circles--because because showing slightly inflated SEMs is better than than suggesting so variation at all, my opinion.

Litter size = litter size at first emergence of offspring from their natal nursery-burrow = number of weanlings. This EXCEL file does NOT show the Cumulative body mass for each litter, which can be calculated by multiplying the Juvenile body mass per litter by litter size. Fig 17.7 for GPDs shows the Cumulative body mass for each litter The Cumulative body mass (Mean + SD) BY LITTER SIZE is shown below in the SYSTAT output.

GPD Visitor Center Colony (VCC, studied in 2017 and 2018) was also at VCNP.

GPD colony at Petrified Forest National Park (PEFO) was studied from 1989 through 1995. But, as noted above, all data in this EXCEL file from PEFO ONLY.
