The application of biostimulants presents a viable strategy for enhancing strawberry productivity and fruit quality under tropical conditions.
Description
These organic substances can improve nutrient uptake, stimulate plant growth, increase stress tolerance, and enhance overall fruit quality. The strawberry production system in Paraguay is characterized by low yields, and producers lack access to the new varieties available.
The objective of this research was to assess how different biostimulant doses affect the productivity and quality of strawberry varieties. The experiment was conducted at the National University of Asunción's Horti-Fruit Center, Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, during March-July 2022. The treatments consisted of a combination of seven varieties of strawberry with three levels of biostimulants.

The experimental design was subdivided into plots with a bifactorial arrangement (7x3), where Factor I was the three doses and Factor II was the seven varieties. Each treatment had four repetitions, and each experimental unit consisted of four plants. The variables evaluated were commercial fresh mass of fruits per plant, total and commercial yield per m2, total and commercial number of fruits per plant, average fruit mass, average commercial fruit mass, diameter and length of the fruit, and content of soluble solids.
Totals, titratable acidity, pH and firmness. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and the Tukey test at 5% error.
