The use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in health centers: the practititoners’ point of view in Catalonia, Spain

The aim of this research is to identify experiences using information and communication technologies (ICTs) that are able to improve the public management of health centers in Catalonia (Spain), as well as being generated bottom-up by primary health care practitioners.
Description
We have compiled these experiences through eleven semi-structured interviews with primary care physicians and nurses. The result is a set of experiences that can improve public management in health centers through a) greater interaction between patients and primary health care providers; b) more patient-centred medical care; and c) greater participation and involvement of patients in their own health situation.
