<p>(A-C) Live-cell imaging of mNG-tagged V-ATPase subunits V<sub>1</sub>B (A), V<sub>1</sub>C (B), and V<sub>o</sub>a (C) reveals widespread V-ATPase disengagement from the DVM.
Description
Hemozoin was visualized using two crossed polarizers. (D) Colocalization analysis of CRT-mCh and V<sub>1</sub>B-mNG at the onset of vacuolar fragmentation. <i>Pf</i>ATG18 knockout was induced at 28 hpi, and parasites were analyzed 8 hours later.
Note that V<sub>1</sub>B is already dissociated in <i>Pf</i>ATG18-deficient parasites, regardless of whether the DV is intact or already fragmented. Scale bars: 5 µm.</p> <p>(TIF)</p>
