Code for the sheath power dissipation induced by ion cyclotron resonance heating

Listed in ScienceDB

In ion cyclotron wave heating, sheath power dissipation is an important form of power loss at the boundary.

Description

The analysis of sheath power dissipation in RF sheath is of great significance for improving ion cyclotron wave heating. To solve this problem, a one-dimensional collision free RF sheath program is developed.

The program is based on the RF sheath model established by Edelberg and Aydil in 1999 and is written in matlab software. The program can be applied to a wide range of RF frequencies and the case of ions containing multiple components. However, if the disturbance current exceeds 3500A, attention should be paid to the instability caused by the time step.

Then the sheath power dissipation is calculated according to the formula proposed by Bures. The results of this program support published articles [An, Ou, and Men, Plasma Sci. Technol. 22 (2020) 065103]
