Replication data for Fig 14.8, WTPDs, Males, Sex partners vs body mass, 06 May 2026

Listed in data.InDoRES

This file has been checked TWO TIMES by JLH alone Body mass during mating season = body mass just before, during, or just after mating season I defined mating season as time period between (and including) first copulation through last copulation

Description

Note

This file only includes WTPD males for which we observed >= 1 copulation Missed cops? = 0 = no clear evidence of >=1 missed copulation Missed cops? = 1 = we probably missed >=1 cop All WTPD males for which Missed cops? = 1 copulated with >=2 females, so I used these WTPD males with Missed cops?=1 for Fig 14.8 and for statistical analyses Sex partners = number of different females with whom male copulated Eartags for male-0 in 2012 were J94, J95 Body mass at first juvenile emergencews= body just before, during, or just after time of first juvenile emergences 10 Feb 2020.

Data for Weanlings sired NOT yet checked. For Fig 14.8, I do not use information for variable = Missed cops? = 1 All body masses in GRAMS I considered data from the same male in different years to be statistically independent. Age = age in years since first emergence from natal nursery-burrow All UPD males in this EXCEL file copulated with at least one female.

These data used for Figure 14.8 for WTPDs in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 07 March 2025. Age = age in years since first emergence from natal nursery-burrow I do not use any information on WTPD age for Fig 14.8.

SEXPARTNERS = minimal number of WTPD females with whom WTPD male copulated, with or without MCs by the copulating male Note that 1, 2, or 3 UPD males could have had the same UPD Marker, but they could have had different Ear tags. WTPD male = Nyanzol marker for this male For all statistical analyses this file for Fig 14.8 for UPDs, Sexpartners was always >=1 and Missed Cops? was either 0 or 1. So, I used all males in this EXCEL file, even though I know that probably missed some sexual partners for at least three WTPD males.

I defined mating season as time period between (and including) first copulation through last copulation A WTPD male had the SAME EARTAGS in different years, but sometimes had a different Nyanzol marker (= WTPD male) in different years File name = Fig 14.8, WTPDs, Males, Sex partners vs body mass, 06 May 2026
