Monitoring competent vectors of Crimea Congo Haemorragic Fever (ticks) , West Nile and Rift Valley Fever in Spain (mosquitos)

Ticks and mosquitoes can transmit infectious diseases as vectors. In the frame of the SPVECTORSURV project, we are setting up in Spain a nationwide mosquito and tick monitoring system.

The aim of the project is to monitor vector distribution and dynamics, and to establish an one-health surveillance system for emerging pathogens, in which mosquitoes and ticks are collected and analysed for detection of pre-selected pathogens, that in the Case of SPVECTORSURV are Crimea Congo hemorragic fever (ticks), West Nile and Rift valley fever. In this dataset we present data provided by ticks monitoring activities carried out in 2024 in the frame of work package 1 of the project devoted to Crimea Congo hemorrhagic fever.
