Wordplay in Estonian, Hungarian and Belarusian COVID-19 memes and jokes

The authors have collected COVID-19 humour from publicly available social media (for example, Facebook and Vk.com groups, Pinterest, discussion forums, joke collection sites) and organised collections campaigns asking the people in the respective countries to submit the examples of COVID-19 humour.

The total number of collected items was 378 in Belarus, 344 in Hungary and more than 2000 in Estonia. After the humorous data were collected, their metadata were recorded (date of collection, source, language, thematic keywords) and they were stored in the Estonian Folklore Archives and in the academic archives of the Department of Folkloristics at the Estonian Literature Museum (Estonian and Belarusian data) and the dataverse of the Institute of Ethnology of the HUN-REN Research Centre for the Humanities within the ARP Data Repository (Hungarian data).
