A comparative study of survival rates, growth, and economic benefits of Racoma pseudaksaiensis at five different net cage aquaculture densities
Listed in figshare

This article studies the effect of aquaculture density on the survival rates and growth of Racoma Pseudaksaiensis(also called Illi snow trout)in net cage aquaculture in a reservoir in Xinjiang, China.
Description
Within the water temperature range from 6℃ to 20 ℃, Racoma Pseudaksaiensis fish fries weighing about 30 grams were cultured in cages. The net cages were placed in the Wenquan Reservoir in Nileke County, Ili, Xinjiang, China, Racoma Pseudaksaiensis fish fries were cultured in 5 groups at 5 different aquaculture densities with an inter-group difference of 50 units, fed with artificial forages.
The aquaculture experiment showed that the different aquaculture densities of net cage aquaculture did have different impacts on the growth of Racoma Pseudaksaiensis. The survival rates, the growth and the economic benefits among these 5 groups of Racoma Pseudaksaiensis are compared to find the most suitable aquaculture density with the highest level of economic benefit. This experiment shows that an aquaculture density of Racoma Pseudaksaiensis at 300 fish fries at the initial unit weight of 30 grams per cubic meter of water body is the most suitable to achieve the highest economic benefit for the net cage aquaculture and sustainable utilization of Racoma Pseudaksaiensis resource in the reservoir of the experiment.
