Replication data for microbial communities in the underground salt mine air aerosol

Listed in RODBUK AGH

The dataset supports a 2025 study of culturable halophilic and non-halophilic microorganisms in relation to the physicochemical characteristics of air in the Bochnia Salt Mine, Poland.

Description

It includes summer 2022 sampling-site metadata, air chemistry data obtained using filter-based and wet sampling methods, and culture-based microbiological results from four sampling sites (BL-1 to BL-4). The data cover temperature and relative humidity, particulate matter and ionic/elemental composition of mine air, as well as CFU counts for non-halophilic bacteria, fungi and halophilic microorganisms.

The dataset was generated to examine spatial relationships between mine-air chemistry, environmental conditions and microbial communities.
