Description
For this file, I have deleted some of Jessica's information This file has been checked ONE TIME ONLY on 12 Jan 2021 Several columns of this file, however, have been checked TWO TIMES and were pasted from other checked files For UPD male-29 in 1999, he had ?MCs. For this file I score male-29's MCs as 1.
I use the same method for other males like 29 who had ?MCs. ?MCs means that a male gave AT LEAST ONE MC, but I was unsure about the exact number of MCs MC = Mating Call For stage of the mating season, I divided each mating season into three thirds. Each third contained approximately one third of all the females that mated each year. Thirds are based on NUMBER OF FEMALES rather than date of year Which third = 1 = first third of mating season Which third = 2 = second third of mating season Which third = 3 = third third of mating season For this EXCEL file, frequency = weight = freq These data used for Fig 16.9 in Hoogland 2026.

This file ready for longterm storage on 24 March 2025. I considered data from the same prairie dog in different years to be independent. Percentage of UPD females that elicited >=1 MC during 1st third of mating season = 82/82+ 55 = 82/137 = 59.9% Percentage of UPD females that DID NOT ELICIT >=1 MC during 1st third of mating season = 55/82 + 55 55/137 = 40.1% Percentage of UPD females that elicited >=1 MC during 2nd third of mating season = 108/108 + 43 = 108/151 = 71.5% Percentage of UPD females that DID NOT ELICIT >=1 MC during 2nd third of mating season = 43 / 43 + 108 = 43/151 = 28.5% Percentage of UPD females that elicited >=1 MC during 3rd third of mating season = 89/89 + 38 / 127 = 89/127 = 70.1% Percentage of GPD females that DID NOT ELICIT >=1 MC during 3rd third of mating season = 38 / 38 + 89 = 38/127 = 29.9% Mixing = juveniles from two litters mixed and interacted before I could get them all eartagged and marked--so that I could not accurately determine maternities or littermate sibships.
