Assessing Interdisciplinary Impact: Insights from the Sentinel North Research Strategy at Université Laval, Canada

The study uses the Sentinel North research program at Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada) as a case study. The study addressed two research questions: (1) Can an institution-wide strategy that bridges existing institutional structures produce measurable gains in interdisciplinarity and contribute to the development of a more integrated and sustainable knowledge production system? and (2) What insights does the implementation of such a strategy provide regarding the conditions and mechanisms that foster interdisciplinarity?

The dataset includes the quantitative and qualitative data used to assess the implementation and outcomes of the strategy. Quantitative analyses examined interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge integration, scholarly productivity, and citation impact, while qualitative analyses explored how the strategy was implemented in practice and identified the conditions and mechanisms that facilitated interdisciplinary research.
