IMD Total Number of Disastrous Heat Wave Days
Listed in Climateverse
The dataset "Total Number of Disastrous Heat Wave Days (Annual)", available on the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Hazard Atlas website, provides a spatial representation of the frequency of heat wave days across regions in India during the period 1969 to 2019.
Description
The data captures the annual occurrence of heat wave days categorized as disastrous, using a color-coded legend with shades of red and yellow to indicate varying intensities.
Darker shades of red signify higher intensity and frequency, while lighter shades and yellow represent lower intensity. This visualization helps in understanding the geographical and temporal patterns of heat wave occurrences over five decades, aiding in risk assessment and adaptation planning.
