The population of waterbirds wintering in the Stour and Orwell Estuaries Special Protection Area is assessed as part of a programme by Harwich Haven Authority to conserve the Haven and its environment.
Description
Low water overwintering bird counts have been completed by Wilder Ecology, SWT Trading Ltd on behalf of Harwich Haven Authority. They have taken place annually from 1999/2000 to 2015/2016, then three-yearly until 2018/2019.
Since 2021/2022, monitoring has continued annually.
