Ze beschrijft haar familie en gaat in op hoe zij te maken kregen met discriminatie. Tijdens de Japanse bezetting werd de geïnterviewde geïnterneerd.
De geïnterviewde gaat in op haar ervaringen van de bezetting en de bersiap. Tijdens de bersiap werkte ze bij het Rode Kruis. In het gesprek reflecteert de geïnterviewde kritisch op de ontwikkelingen in Nederlands-Indië.
