A new leafhopper species, Scaphomonus lii sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Yunnan Province, China. A revised checklist along with a taxonomic identification key and distributional data for known species in the genus Scaphomonus is provided. The type specimen of the new species is deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC).
