The agency created this series to provide information on military and civilian casualties during the Vietnam ceasefire period.

Description

This series contains counts of the number of war casualties in the Vietnamese Conflict during the ceasefire period. Data was reported daily by South Vietnam military region.

Casualty counts include the number killed, wounded, and missing for Army of the Republic of Vietnam forces; the number killed, wounded, missing, and abducted for South Vietnam civilians, and t he number killed and detained for the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong. Information for the file was provided by daily operations reports from the field, and a variety of summary reports were generated from the compiled data to detect the extent of the violations of the cease fire.
