CE0402 NUI Galway Ryan Institute Oceanographic Survey

The aim of the cruise was to survey in the region of the southern Rockall Trough and Porcupine Bank to look at aspects of the physical oceanographic regime, the bacterial communities and the regional biodiversity of benthic fauna.
Description
The cruise also wanted to do the following: 1. Recover the two long (2400m) moorings deployed in October 2003 2.
Redeployment of one long mooring 3. Deployment of the 2 bottom mounted ADCPs. Standard oceanographic research data collection to ascertain the condition of the ocean.
