Description
De stemming was optimistisch. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe de Japanners zijn woonplaats, Medan, binnenkwamen en hoe er regelmatig Japanners in huis kwamen.
De geïnterviewde kwam in verschillende kampen terecht. Het laatste kamp was heel zwaar. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het moment van de bevrijding.

Men moest wel nog in het kamp blijven vanwege het gevaar op straat. De geïnterviewde werd uiteindelijk bij de stadspolitie ingedeeld om de Indonesiërs uit het kamp te houden. In 1946 ging de geïnterviewde naar Nederland en keerde in 1947 weer terug als dienstplichtig marinier.
