Our questionnaire addresses the two main issues of voting behaviorand electoral participation. Voting behavior includes: (1)reasons for not voting (2)the process of deciding how to vote (3)voting orientation and (4)election result-party choice. By evaluating the electoral system inclusive of input, transformation, and output, we divided electoral activities into five levels: sustaining, pleading, reforming, accelerating, and intervening.

The lowest level being sustaining and the highest level being intervening with the assumption that the individual at a higher level of participation will also participate at subsequent levels. This is an island-wide research survey. Due to financial and time constraints, we could only investigate a sample of the population.

In order to ensure a representative sample, our research team adopted a fairly complex multiple-stage sampling method. We followed the principle of probabilities proportional to size (PPS), along with stratified sampling, systematic sampling, and double sampling in order to take advantage of the distinct benefits derived from each method.
