Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) derived from amphibian sources have been extensively studied and utilized as models for investigating the mechanisms and potential applications of peptide-based anti-infectious medications.
Description
In this work, using the technology of ‘shotgun’ cloning, an AMP was identified and characterised from Limnonectes kuhlii skin secretion and named Brevinin-2LK. The functional selectivity of Brevinin-2LK (LK) was investigated by using in vitro assays, including antibacterial, haemolytic, and anticancer tests. <br><br><i>Thesis is embargoed until 31 December 2028</i>.
