Extent and Role of Cratonic Lithosphere in the Variscan Orogeny

Four Geosoft grids provide (1) Moho depth derived by three-dimensional gravity inversion constrained by seismic observations, (2) lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary (LAB) depth from the LITHO1.0 model, (3) the lithospheric-mantle-to-crust thickness ratio, and (4) lithospheric thickness calculated from LAB depth and a digital elevation model (DEM).

GeoTIFF versions are supplied for products 1, 3, and 4. All files use WGS 84 geographic coordinates, were produced in the fourth quarter of 2024, and are licensed under CC BY 4.0. The Moho inversion used Getech Global Gravity data gridded at 0.02°, a complete Bouguer correction with a reference density of 2.67 g cm−3, and an average density contrast of 0.4 g cm−3 across the Moho.
