PHANGS-HST Halpha Nebulae Catalogue

We present the PHANGS-MUSE/HST-H{alpha} nebulae catalogue, comprising 5177 spatially resolved nebulae across 19 nearby star-forming galaxies (D<20Mpc), based on high-resolution HST H{alpha} imaging homogenised to a fixed 10pc resolution.
Description
In synergy with PHANGS-MUSE spectroscopy, we robustly classify 4882 HII regions, derive electron densities for 2544, and provide consistent sizes, luminosities, morphologies, and emission-line diagnostics.
Structural complexity is quantified via hierarchical segmentation, highlighting a large fraction of HII complexes in galactic centres. A luminosity-size relation calibrated on the HST sample is applied to 30790 MUSE nebulae, recovering sizes down to ~1pc. Cross-matching with PHANGS-HST stellar associations links 3349 nebulae to powering populations, with median ages ~3Myr and masses 10^4^-10^5^M_{sun}_.

This dataset provides the largest parsec-scale resolved benchmark to date for connecting ionised nebulae, stellar populations, and ISM conditions across nearby galaxies.
