Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Files

This series contains information on public and private institutions of higher education, including occupational programs, on their undergraduate, graduate and first - professional students' major and minor fields of study, attendance status, degrees conferred, demographic characteristics, student aid, and student loan fu nds.

Additional student data includes employment status, education related and other costs, and attitudes and methods of finance. An additional component of the survey includes survey data on parents of students, such as family characteristics, finances, and how the family pays for postsecondary education for their children. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
