England's Past for Everyone: Historic Environment Research

VCH staff worked closely with local volunteers on projects to produce high quality local history research and to make this information more readily available to a wide audience, including researchers, school children, visitors and local history enthusiasts.

Historic environment analysis was conducted by a wide range of organisations and individual experts, including county archaeologists, buildings consultants and archaeological contract units often involving the adoption of multi-disciplinary methodologies. The reports and photographic surveys produced as part of this project are available to browse and download on-line.
