Stable carbon record and paleomagnetic of sediment core V28-179

Listed in PANGAEA

Oxygen isotope and palaeomagnetic analysis of the lower half of LDGO piston core V28-179 shows that glacial-interglacial fluctuations have characterised Eart's climate for the past 3.2 Myr, before shich there was a period of stable 'interglacial' or 'preglacial' climate.

Description

The scale of glaciations increased about 2.5 Myr ago.
