Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the distinct educational practices that could be included in the field of theatre education. Also, as a result, to propose the need to develop, from a scientific and academic perspective, a discipline which should offer a systematic, rigorous and normative description about what theatre education is as a specific area in the educational field, as well as about its relevant and differential features, compared to other similar areas.
