KITcube Doppler lidar measurements from Villingen-Schwenningen, Swabian MOSES 2023, Level 2 wind profiles

Description
Wind profiles processed from measurements of the Doppler lidar Lockheed Martin WindTracer WTX located at Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany (48.05627°N, 8.48715°E, 765 m) during the Swabian MOSES 2023 field campaign (doi.org/10.3389/feart.2025.1555755) from June to September 2023. For the wind profile calculation, PPI and RHI scans are used. The four RHI scans were carried out in four directions (northwards, eastwards, southwards, westwards).
The four PPI scans were carried out at 3°, 30°, 60°, and 90° elevation angle. The vertical profiles of the 3D wind vectors are calculated using AtmoProKIT v1.1 with the standard module chain (doi.org/10.5194/gmd-19-2497-2026). The default values of the standard module chain are used for all processing parameters, except of the minimum elevation angle.

To avoid hard targets (surrounding mountains), the minimum elevation angle for considered measurements is set to 30°. The temporal resolution of the processed wind profiles is 10 min and the vertical resolution is 100 m.
