Abstract
Specimens of marine ornamental fishes collected from western Sumatra, Indonesia, were examined and several noteworthy records are documented here. Apolemichthys xanthurus (Bennett, 1833), Centropyge flavipectoralis Randall et Klausewitz, 1977, Abudefduf caudobimaculatus Okada et Ikeda, 1939, and Siganus magnificus (Burgess, 1977) represent the first voucher-based records of these species from this region, and their distributional records are discussed.
In addition, xanthochromic individuals of Epinephelus quoyanus (Valenciennes, 1830) and Paracanthurus hepatus (Linnaeus, 1766) are documented for the first time.
