Surveys of Federal Employees

The agency produced final reports and public use data files from these surveys. This series contains social survey data documenting each government employee's personal and employment background, current position, job satisfaction, work relationships with other employees and supervisors, experiences within their agencies, and perceived promotional opportunities.

The Federal Employee Attitudes Survey, Phase I, May 1979 (FEAS 1) contains data from 13,862 respondents to a survey of a random sample of 20,000 Federal civilian employees. The Federal Employee Attitudes Survey, Phase II, November 1980-March 1981 (FEAS 2) contains data from 9,226 respondents to a sample of 13,282 senior Federal civilian employees (General Sschedule 13 and above). The Federal Employee Attitudes Survey, Phase III, 1983 (FEAS 3) contains data from 20,205 respondents to a survey of a random sample of 28,120 Federal civilian employees.
