Aqueous humor flow under glaucoma

However, it is well known that glaucoma is produced by an imbalance in the production and drainage of aqueous humour. The conventional drainage system is composed of the trabecular meshwork (at the anterior chamber angle), the Schlemm Canal, and the collector channels.

Alterations of any of these components could increase the aqueous humour flow resistance. The hypothesis of this work is that the position of the collector channels has a strong influence on the drainage resistance. Numerical simulations of biologically realistic models were performed, using OpenFOAM.
